My 2019 Lookbook: Advice & Thoughts.

It’s finally the end of 2019. We made it through another year! 2019 has been one for the books and I know I said that about 2018, but goodness the years just keep getting better. I started the year in Houston, Texas, having just graduated LSU and Austin and I just started dating. Worked for a super funky magazine and published three articles, did countless interviews with Houston based magazines, and traveled back and forth between Houston and Atlanta to see Austin. We went through a deployment for 4 months, and then right before he got back, I moved again all the way to Atlanta, Georgia for graduate school. I am now done with my first semester of my Masters and my first semester as a Writing Consultant, ENGAGED to the absolute love of my life, and we have the most perfect house together. I’m planning a wedding, freelancing fulltime, and absolutely in love with my life.

If 2019 has taught me anything, it’s that you should never sacrifice your dreams. I started freelancing full-time three months ago and it’s been the best decision I’ve ever made. My life has done a complete 180 since I put my dreams first, and my fiance does everything to support them. YOU are so important, and life is too short to be doing something that makes you absolutely miserable. Always invest in things that will later on be an investment for your future. Don’t put countless hours into something that is just paying your light bill, or your rent. Go out there and find something that makes you happy.

I am a firm believer in following your dreams, and not letting anything get in the way of that. I hope in 2020 I can continue to grow as a writer, grow as a scholar, and grow as a fiance. Living is so magical, ya know? You have to soak up every ounce you can.

We are ringing in the New Year with a few of our close friends at a big party in downtown ATL. I can’t help but think about all the amazing things 2019 has given me and taught me. I wish everyone the best New Year and don’t settle for anything less than you deserve.
