Today is the start of the rest of our lives.
That’s the opening line of every graduation right? It’s so true.
As I sang the Alma Mater for the last time swinging back and forth with my friends, it hit me.
This is it. I’ve finally did it.
We screamed L S U and confetti shot from the ceiling and tears started pooling in my eyes.
In the blink of an eye, the last four years of my life have come to an end.
And the next chapter is just beginning.
It’s a bitter sweet moment looking at this piece of paper that has defined my existence for so long. It’s everything I could’ve hoped for.
Next stop: Houston.
Even more unbelievable then getting my degree. This time tomorrow I’ll be in my new home preparing to start my dream job.
I have found a home in LSU that I’ll never find anywhere else and that’s something I’ll hold close to my heart every single day.
Thanks for the long study nights in Middleton, the thousands of dollars spent on coffee, the 10.2 miles of walking to and from classes, and most importantly, for filling the holes in my heart with amazing people that will be by my side forever.
